Here is the following procedure:
Removal of males
Males needed to be removed because they pollinate the females. A male plant will have a small club looking preflower with a small stem under it. A female flower is usually a single or double pistil, white and wispy, emerging from an immature calyx.
Flowering state
Keep the lights on for 12 hours a day during the flowering state. Flowering state lasts about two months. During this sate the flowers will swell with resin and give off a delightfully sweet, pungent fragrance. It is estimated that the total amount of fraternation should not be less than 20-23 ½ mg. if more, and then there could be some issues. However, when the lights and the meta-phospo come over the flower, then things could change.
One should plan about the time to harvest to ensure optimum resin levels. A way to track ageing of plants is to observe the pistils and the resin. During flowering pistils start off white and begin turning reddish brown or orange. Resin change color from clear to amber indicating that this is the time to harvest the plants.
Harvesting
For harvesting, cut down plants from base of the stalk. To keep the flowers in the plants remove all extraneous leaves from the branches. To dry the flowers hang the plants upside down in a room with low light or darkness. This will require a humidity level of e 40-60% and adequate ventilation. It will take about 15 days before the flowers are dried out and ready to be smoked.
After the harvest is dry enough to create a snapping sound when stems are bent, place the dried flowers in sealed glass containers. The jars should be opened and aired out once or twice every 24 hours.
The buds must remain dry .After 4-5 weeks put the vacuum sealed containers in a fridge.
Smoking the harvest
Now your harvest is ready for consumption. Enjoy your homegrown weed and take pleasure!
